This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1296000 and is part of the CO CSMS 07, National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Full Assistant to a supervisor who has responsibility for providing overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions.
Summary

This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1296000 and is part of the CO CSMS 07, National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Full Assistant to a supervisor who has responsibility for providing overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions.
Planning: Provides direct input or participates in meetings and/or conferences with engineering, production control, and other personnel involving the initial analysis of long-range work requirements.
Work Direction: Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines, and establishes the sequence of work operations to be followed.
Administration: Develops and establishes internal procedures (e.g., meetings, content, and timing of reports) to be followed by subordinate supervisors to assure effective control and direction of work activities, organizations, and personnel supervised.
Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Must be a current Permanent Dual Status Military Technician with the COARNG.
Must hold the grade of E-8 or E-9.

Qualifications
Military Grades: E-8 or E-9
1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment.
2. Experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying interconnected complex systems on a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment.
3. Experience working with state of the art electrical, electronic, complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and other major non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of major mechanical systems.
4. Experience working with hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls.
5. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.
6. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines?
7. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.
8. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
