As an Supervisory Inspections and Compliance Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

  • Directing a staff comprising Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) personnel in the management and development of on-site audits, inspections, and/or reviews that ensure agency law enforcement offices, programs, and detention facilities are incompliance with Federal, Department of Homeland Security, and ICE regulations.
  • Overseeing the development of recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Developing long-range program plans, goals, objectives and milestones.
  • Providing briefings, advice, and assistance at various leadership levels on government-wide detention oversight operations and program compliance.
  • Serving as the office representative and cooperates with officials in the resolution of problems that cross organizational and jurisdictional lines.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:

  • Documenting, validating, and verifying consolidated findings for assigned inspections, audits, or reviews and detailing adequate background to support the identification of any finding;
  • Identifying problems and resolving information conflicts with both internal and external agencies; and
  • Leading teams performing on-site compliance audits/inspections/reviews of operations, programs, and events

Supervisory Probationary Period: This is a supervisory position. Under provisions of the Civil Service Reform Act, first time supervisors and/or managers will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period. You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.

Geographic preferences will be considered when practicable; however, management retains discretion to assign employees based on mission requirements. Employees will generally receive at least 90 days advance notice of relocation, unless essential mission requirements or approved exceptions necessitate a shorter notice period.

Relocation expenses for directed reassignments will be reimbursed in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations and agency policy.

A student loan repayment incentive may be available, in which case a service agreement will be required.
