These Management and Program Analyst (Wildland Fire), GS-0343-11, positions are with the US Wildland Fire Service, working in the following location(s):

As a Management and Program Analyst (Wildland Fire) your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Reviews operating regulations and directives and other pertinent sources to gather, correlate, analyze, determine and recommend appropriate effectiveness.
Advises management on a variety of opportunities and options to increase organizational effectiveness.
Provides direction and interpretation of administrative policies, procedures and guidelines to managers and coworkers.
Prepares detailed action plans and schedules for long and short-range project accomplishment and ensures that plans are consistent with organization's goals and policies.
Serves as a point of contact among program managers, specialists, and support services staff to obtain and clarify information, coordinate data calls, and ensure timely completion of assigned analytical products.
Suitability for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification requirements listed below.
To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
Only experience and education obtained by 09/04/2026 will be considered.

Minimum Qualification:
For the GS-11 level: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, or higher, in the Federal service, or equivalent. Examples include, but are not limited to: performing duties in support of a variety of business operations, administrative services, work processes, and/or management support programs and functions; gathering information, identifying, and analyzing issues and/or participating in activities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in support of organizational program objectives; providing direction on administrative policies and procedures; using automated systems or databases to accomplish work activities, manipulate data, and produce reports.

Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related to the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate level education as listed above.

If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
