Serving as the Executive Director (FLETA Office of Accreditation) GS-0301-15 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA), Office of Accreditation (OA) team and mission. This position is located within the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers, Chief Financial Officer Directorate, Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation, Office of Accreditation.

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA), Office of Accreditation (OA) works with the FLETA Board, which is the accrediting body for all federal law enforcement training and support programs, to advance its key missions: to enhance the quality of federal law enforcement through a set of standards for federal law enforcement training; to administer the accreditation process for all federal law enforcement training; and to instill public confidence in federal law enforcement through compliance with the standards. The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership in the development and implementation of accreditation standards, policies, and procedures, while managing the operational and programmatic activities of the FLETA, OA.

Typical duties include:

  • Developing and managing strategic goals and objectives for accreditation, ensuring alignment with FLETA's mission and law enforcement training priorities
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of accreditation standards and policies, ensuring compliance with applicable federal laws, regulations and guidelines
  • Conducting comprehensive analyses of accreditation programs and policies to evaluate their effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and recommend enhancements
  • Serving as a primary liaison to the FLETA Board, federal law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders, providing guidance and support on accreditation-related issues

Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:

1) Providing leadership and supervision to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of accreditation policies, procedures, and programs; AND

2) Developing and managing goals and objectives for an accreditation program, ensuring strategic alignment with accreditation provider standards; AND

3) Supporting accreditation missions by working with the accreditation provider staff; AND

4) Performing accreditation requirements to include special projects, research initiatives, and policy development activities.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.

Re-employed annuitants' annual salaries will be reduced by the amount of their retirement annuity and by further cost of living increases.
