As a PROGRAM MANAGER (GLOBAL FORCE MANAGEMENT-ENABLING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM MANAGER) at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • . Maintains continuous interaction, cooperation, and coordination with force providers, Combatant Commanders, the Joint Planning and Execution Community (JPEC), and the Joint Staff as well as material development activities.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the JPEC, material developers, and senior leaders to collect and prioritize requirements.
  • Analyzes and interprets GFM-enabling information technology performance for senior leader decision support as related to: crisis action, deliberate, operations, and exercise planning to advise and influence various boards, centers, and cells associated with force management and force movement IT applications and systems.
  • Makes recommendations to the PP&T Division Chief and the VDD J35 South on such matters as what programs or major projects should be initiated or curtailed; resources to devote to particular projects, timing of making changes in programs or projects; and what changes in emphasis need to be made in program or portions of programs.
  • Conducts reviews and initiates reports with recommendations on the best courses of action. Evaluates resources and options on project development.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Recognizing policies, processes, procedures, business rules, and IT technologies currently supporting Global Force Management (GFM);
  • Applying qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluative methods and techniques for the assessment and improvement of Global Force Management;
  • Designing and conducting comprehensive management studies;
  • Analyzing program management practices and principles to enhance current IT tools and systems or developing new capabilities in support of Global Force Management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.


Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date).
