Duties

Help

As a GS-14 Management and Program Analyst, duties will consist of, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develops and maintains system for tracking workflows associated with the WHD audits to enhance transparency, accountability and audit readiness.
  • Responsible for comparing data and written responses against audit requests and overall audit scope, and for recommending changes to optimize the balance between program requirements and the ability to execute the requirements.
  • Develops strategies, recommends innovative solutions to address issues of significance, and ensures the effectiveness, accuracy, and consistency of the material furnished.
  • Responsible for formulating and directing development of policy, procedures, and methodology for all Agency audit-related activities and application of audit-related statutes, policies, and regulations.
  • Conducts continual analysis and evaluation of programs and data submitted in response to audit requests.
  • Guides team in assessing strengths and weaknesses, generating alternative approaches, and determining what improvements can be made to WHD audit responses.
  • Prepares action plans and schedules for various phases of the audit, and ensures plans are consistent with WHD's mission, goals, and policies, to include steps for furnishing and responding to follow-up inquiries about WHD's non-public structured data.

Qualifications

To qualify for Management and Program Analyst, you must meet all the specialized experience described below.

Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal Service.

Qualifying specialized experience for GS-14 includes:

  • Working on technical reviews of data that demonstrate knowledge of Wage and Hour Division procedures, stakeholders, business processes and work methods.
  • Managing projects that are of major importance and defining solutions requiring unconventional approaches to issues identified in audits.
  • Analyzing legislative and higher headquarters guidance to determine the impact on the organizations audit requirements and developing required policies, procedures and guidance in response.
