Duties

Help
  • Manage instructor-led training courses in the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure employees can enroll in and complete required training efficiently.
  • Coordinate training sessions and briefings by scheduling rooms, setting up equipment, and organizing materials to support effective and timely training delivery.
  • Provide guidance on the SF-182 training request process by answering questions and explaining requirements to employees and managers to ensure accurate submissions.
  • Review SF-182 external training requests for accuracy and required documentation to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Use a government purchase card to procure training-related goods and services in accordance with federal acquisition and financial policies.

Special selection priority consideration will be given under the Career Transition Assistance program (CTAP) and the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) to well-qualified surplus or displaced candidates within the local commuting area.

Probationary Period. One-year probationary period may be required.

Selective Service. If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, you must certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System, or are exempt from having to do so under the Selective Service Law.

Background Suitability Investigation. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background investigation and the granting of a federal suitability or security clearance. If selected, you may be offered tentative employment until the background investigation has been fully adjudicated.

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time-in-Grade Requirement, which is 52 weeks of federal service at the next lower grade, GS-09.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the Specialized Experience as described below.

Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have at least one year of full-time specialized work experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the next lower level (equivalent to the GS-09) in the federal government. Specialized experience is defined as: One year of experience, equivalent to the GS-09 level in the federal government that includes: (1) Analyze workforce and training data to identify trends and support improvements to training programs; (2) Assist in evaluating training programs by collecting feedback and reviewing results to improve course effectiveness and participant experience; (3) Review External Training Requests (like the SF-182) to ensure forms are complete, accurate, and compliant with policy requirements; (4) Coordinate training activities by scheduling sessions, maintaining course information in the learning management system, and supporting training logistics to ensure smooth delivery.

*Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized experience must meet 52 weeks equivalent to the next lower grade level. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Education

Foreign Education. If you are using education completed at foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign education programs. Foreign education must be deemed equivalent to that gained at an accredited U.S. education program.
