The position serves as a Program Coordinator with responsibility for the planning and coordination of a strong and effective Post Liaison Program.

Duties

Help
  • Provides frontline oversight of NVC Post Liaison and Scheduling services.
  • Establishes and maintains close and effective working relationships with key contractor personnel involved in Immigrant Visa (IV) processing .
  • Monitors incoming communications from posts and oversees NVC IV interview scheduling activities on behalf of overseas Embassies and Consulates to ensure that the scheduling process operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Works closely with contractor staff to ensure that notices of appointment are properly generated and disseminated to all parties involved in the cases, including applicants, petitioners, and agents of choice, as applicable.
  • Works closely with NVC contractor staff, Consular Officers, and leadership to analyze, develop, implement, and update Visa Office policy guidance.
  • Serves as a Government Technical Monitor (GTM) with responsibility for monitoring and overseeing technical performance on assigned aspects of various contracts administered by NVC for assigned contracts administered by NVC.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience reviewing, evaluating, and staying abreast of developments and changing strategic priorities that impact how products and services are delivered.
  • Experience managing incoming and outgoing communications with stakeholders, analyzing trends and articulating possible solutions.
  • Experience analyzing, developing and implementing directives to internal and external audiences.
  • Experience planning and managing prioritization of complex processes that are dependent upon input from other sources.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

The evaluation process consists of the ApplyGov Competency Based Assessments and a crediting plan for which applicants will be assigned a score between 70 and 100. A resume review will be conducted for minimum qualification (MQ) requirements, per the “Qualifications” section of this announcement, of the top qualified candidates based on combined total score. Resumes longer than two pages will be deemed ineligible and will not be considered further.  Responses to questions that are not fully supported by your resume may result in a rating adjustment.
