Position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

As a IT SPECIALIST (OPERATING SYSTEMS/OS) at the GG-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Responsible for the engineering & administration of systems in the Data Center to include service control, monitoring, Enterprise Directory Services (EDS), Single Sign On (SSO) and storage management across multiple enclave/domains supporting joint training.
  • Determines priority of work to ensure patches are promptly applied to all assets that support the data center and the virtual infrastructure.
  • Maintains data center server, storage and workstation documentation and diagrams for Risk Management Framework (RMF) Accreditation to meet Cyber Command's strict cyber posture requirements.
  • Develops and maintains equipment and software Life Cycle Management (LCM) documentation necessary to support division budget submissions as well as analyze future technology trends to reduce overall operating costs within the Joint Training Environment
    Reports status of cyber compliance posture and attainment of overall LCM metrics in accordance with the LCM program.

Position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

You may qualify at the GG-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:

  • Understanding Information Systems, Cyber Security, virtual infrastructure, Storage Area Network and data center operations;
  • Applying project management skills to resolve planning and IT issues that may arise;
  • Recognizing software installation and configuration procedures to assist in readying the operating environment to support testing activities;
  • Analyzing future technology trends to develop and maintain supportive documentation resulting in significant savings within the Joint Training environment.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210, series as listed below:

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
