Summary

The incumbent is primarily responsible for serving as the Financial Program Advisor and reports directly to Senior Executive Service, Director and Deputy Director on all aspects of financial management, accounting, administrative and budgetary matters. The incumbent plans, directs, and coordinates all financial management activities for SEPS. This function includes making executive judgment decisions in planning, organizing, and directing the SEPS integrated financial management program.

Duties

Help

The duties and responsibilities for a Financial Program Advisor, GS-0501-14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs regarding personnel security, information security, physical security, litigation security, and emergency preparedness planning.
* Reports on financial management, accounting, administrative and budgetary matters.
* Plans, directs, and coordinates all financial management activities.
* Oversee status of funds review to prevent Anti-Deficiency Act violations.
* Oversees and manages budget operations for the budget plans for the Working Capital and General Appropriation funds.

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You must successfully pass a security/background investigation and a drug screening.
  • You must be a current permanent Department of Justice employee with competitive status or a CTAP/RPL eligible candidate.
  • You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement.
  • This position requires a one-year probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties unless previously completed.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
  • This position requires a valid U.S. driver's license

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Financial Program Advisor, at GS-0501-14, you must meet the specialized experience listed below.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as analyzing, planning and/or coordinating all phases of budgeting needs; identifying budget funding limitations and/or approving or disapproving of budgetary items.

You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by 05/01/2026 of this announcement.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Once the announcement closes, a review of your resume and supporting documentation will be conducted by the HR Specialist. This information will be compared against your responses to the application questionnaire to determine your eligibility for Federal employment, and then whether you are qualified for this particular position.
