Duties

Help
  • Provides classroom instruction and individual student health education and counseling.
  • Provides emergency care of illness or injury occurring during school hours according to standard first aid guidelines.
  • Maintains health information and documents.
  • Collaborates with teachers and other school personnel to interpret pupil health status.
  • Participates in the establishment, management, and evaluation of a comprehensive school health program.

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • This position is a Testing Designated position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. You will be required to sign a DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Education Requirement:
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), https://nclex.com/index.page is required. Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. The license must be verifiable through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) nurse licensure and disciplinary database and must be maintained throughout employment with DoDEA.

OR

A Bachelor's degree in a programs other than nursing is acceptable only if possession of a current, active, full, and unrestricted nurse license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States is presented. Nurses from Puerto Rico will be required to show proof of passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), https://nclex.com/index.page.
