As a Nurse, you will:
Assist the project leader in a broad range of Quality Management (QM) and health care program inspections and evaluations.
Plan, coordinate, and/or conduct extensive pre-inspection clinical research, and provide appropriate guidance to non-clinical team members where such is needed.
Identify existing information sources from which to obtain a sufficient data base to facilitate the team's understanding of the clinical process or outcome to be inspected or evaluated and to identify possible clinical issues that require further development.
Plans and schedule project briefings and training sessions for all project participants. He/she will provide comprehensive clinically-based briefings including pertinent legislative and regulatory information, the perceived or actual status of the review entity, the effectiveness of internal control systems, and the existence and magnitude of any QM/clinical program problems.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Registration Requirement: Applicants must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

AND Specialized experience for the GS-13 is one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position which includes:
- Providing clinical healthcare services requiring interpretation of various medical regulation and directives; AND
- Conducting healthcare audits, inspections, or program evaluations. AND
- Identifying quality care issues and making recommendations in accordance with medical and nursing guidelines and regulations.
