This position is part of the Office of Legacy Management, Department of Energy. As a Real Property Management Team Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading the strategic management and stewardship of LM's real property team. This includes directing the implementation of established policies, acquisition, disposal, and long-term oversight.

As a Real Property Management Team Supervisor, you will:

  • Direct and manage a real estate team, oversee staff, assign work, and guide projects crucial to the organization's property goals.
  • Ensure real estate activities follow national policies, strategies, and all federal rules for acquiring, managing, and selling properties.
  • Lead difficult negotiations for buying, selling, leasing, and transferring real estate across various locations and programs.
  • Oversee the Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) program, ensuring local governments receive accurate and timely payments.
  • Guide the Beneficial Reuse Program, finding the best ways to repurpose federal property to benefit communities.
  • Inform leaders about new trends, risks, and opportunities affecting the agency's long-term real estate plans.

  • This position is not included in a Bargaining Unit.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of TOTAL 3 of the following:

  1. Managing complex real property programs that oversee the full lifecycle of acquisition and disposal of diverse land and asset portfolios.
  2. Advise leadership on complex real estate matters and long-term stewardship responsibilities to strategically align with future objectives.
  3. Supervise staff through work oversight and performance evaluation to achieve organizational goals.
