This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity.The incumbent will be responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned programs. Managed programs have a significant impact throughout DoD and support the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) mission at the innumerable field and Headquarters offices throughout the continental United States and overseas.

Duties

Help

As a SUPERVISORY EQUAL EMPLOYMENT INVESTIGATOR at the GS-1860-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Directs the full range of supervisory responsibilities for a geographically dispersed team, including assigning work, developing performance standards, managing personnel actions, and fostering employee development.
  • Provides expert technical oversight for high-profile and complex formal EEO investigations, ensuring full compliance with EEOC regulations, federal laws, and DoD policies.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates program operations and policies, ensuring alignment with strategic agency goals while liaising with senior EEO officials across DoD components and activities.
  • Serves as the principal subject matter expert on EEO and ADR, developing and delivering training, briefing EEO officials at all levels, and ensuring the quality of all investigative work products.
  • Functions as a key member of the corporate management team, contributing to the development of multi-year strategic plans, organizational goals, and policy changes, and serves in an acting capacity for senior leadership as required.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Developed and implemented new methodologies to evaluate program operations, analyzing progress to ensure alignment with our strategic plan and overarching agency goals.
  • Providing technical supervision and direct oversight to a team of investigators handling high- profile, controversial, and technically complex formal EEO complaints.
  • Exercise a full spectrum of supervisory authority over a geographically dispersed team of investigators by assigning complex work, managing performance, and directing all program operations.
  • Direct the full range of investigative techniques, from developing case strategies and obtaining evidence.
  • Interpreting and applying complex EEO laws, including Title VII, ADEA, and the Rehabilitation Act, to provide technical oversight on high-profile complaints and ensure full legal compliance.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
