  • A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication.

  • Incumbent is required to operate a government motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license, and have a safe driving record within the 3 year period immediately preceding submittal of GSA Form 3607.
  • Drug Testing. This position is subject to both pre-employment and random drug testing as a condition of employment. Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test is received.
  • A Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire. Failure to obtain a Class A CDL within this timeframe will result in removal from position.
  • A physical examination is required for this position.

Qualifications

Your application must show that you demonstrate the ability to perform Groundman work in the aid of the lineman gathering material and equipment essential to work assignments where incumbent is responsible for material and equipment readiness. The incumbent will be exposed to high voltage utilities and where the use of insulated tools, knowledge of tool specialty, tools and supplies maintenance and care, and organization are essential to work assignments and safety. Other work assignment will include the use of power tools such as drills, jackhammers, operation of cranes, rope lines, hoists, booms, diggers, and pullers. In addition, the incumbent will use electrical drawings, written instructions, utility system diagrams and ask questions to avoid hazards, encourage team work, and perform duties under the general supervision of the Lineman.
