Help

You will serve as a Supervisory Security Specialist responsible for developing, implementing and managing USCG-wide Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) Security. You will also be responsible for informing and guiding the Head of Intelligence Community Element (HICE), the Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO), Special Security Officers/Special Security Representatives (SSOs)/(SSRs) across the Coast Guard on intelligence security matters.

Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the team. An example of your duties include:

  • Ensure USCG SCI security programs comply with applicable laws, Executive Orders, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs), Department of Homeland Security and other policies applicable to SCI security management.
  • Develops and implements personnel security, physical security, information security, and industrial security policy related to intelligence and SSO functions.
  • Oversee the accreditation and management of SCIFs across the USCG addressing technical and unique challenges during the accreditation process.
  • Implements a security education, training, and awareness program for SCI security across the USCG.
  • Provides direct supervision, oversight, and guidance to subordinate civilian and military personnel within the division.

Qualifications

Developing, and implementing policies and procedures for SCI security applicable across the USCG. Leading, supervising, and evaluating federal employees, monitoring status of tasks, reviewing work products and providing feedback. Coordinating with multiple internal and external partners to accomplish security missions. Developing, implementing, and managing physical, personnel, information, and industrial security programs. Reviewing documentation related to SCIF construction, assessing unusual circumstances, and making accreditation decisions. Implementing a SCI security, education, and training program for the USCG. Providing direction and guidance to subordinate units responsible for SCI security management. Briefing leadership regarding highly complex and challenging security issues and providing guidance and recommendations on possible solutions. Providing exceptional attention to detail in all areas of responsibility.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13. The SPēD certification is DoD's initiative to professionalize the security workforce by establishing a common set of competencies for security practitioners that promotes interoperability, facilitates professional development and training, and develops a workforce of certified security professionals. This position requires the incumbent obtain and maintain the following core SPēD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
