Summary
This vacancy is for aWG-5725-11, CRANE OPERATOR (INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC), WG-5725-11 located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION FACILITY BOSTON in BOSTON, Massachusetts.
The purpose of the position is to operate one or more types of heavy equipment.
Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable team member.
Determining safe working loads and conditions and manipulating various controls in response to hand signals to move various equipment.
Performing refueling and routine maintenance of equipment, including oil and filter changes, tire repairs and chassis and wire rope lubrication.
Transporting a variety of loads including buoys, small boats, wood and steel pilings, vessel masts, booms, crane sections, engines, and heavy equipment and machines.
Selecting and using miscellaneous rigging equipment such as cable, cloth slings, strongbacks and spreaders to lift, move, and position antennas, small engines crated materials, etc.
*Building and setting up forms and molds to fabricate concrete sinkers weighting 2000 to 12,500 pounds to anchor buoys.
