Duties

Help
  • Serve as a senior specialist providing expert financial management and systems, advisory and consultative services with regards to the development and integration of new computer technology.
  • Identifies, coordinates, and resolves controversial or key issues and problems related to financial systems design and modification.
  • Develops innovative system software change requests and functional specifications to implement modifications and enhancements.
  • Prepares annual budget input, including spend plans for each system and monitors monthly execution against spend plans and/or capital funds available.
  • Responsible for planning, testing, revising, implementing, and maintaining an entire system or major portions of a complex financial system.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Evaluating and interpreting financial policies, regulations, legislation and statutes to ensure financial or accounting system compliance with those directives; performing business process analysis through evaluation of financial systems, policies, regulations, legislation and statutes; providing technical support for financial/accounting systems by planning, testing, revising, implementing, and maintaining the systems.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.
