Help

As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Systems Analysis), at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:

  • Plan and coordinate organization wide implementation of new systems design methodologies and concepts to improve quality of software products.
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee work of subordinate supervisors, team leaders and/or staff.
  • Exercise significant responsibility in dealing with officials of other units or organizations, or in advising management officials of higher rank.
  • Actively exercise judgment and ingenuity in championing the implementation of standardized methods throughout the agency.

Basic Qualifications: In order to meet basic qualifications for GS-2210 positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the competencies defined below:

Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Specialized Experience:

You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level performing duties as:
  • Managing programs where you translated requirements into scalable, innovative solutions;
  • Managing various technologies, platforms, and architectures such as cloud, networking, databases, software development;
  • Assessing new system design and development methodologies to deliver solutions that best support the mission need, and improve operational delivery and customer experience;
  • Overseeing technical and contractor staff and exhibiting executive level organizational skills in overseeing a wide range of responsibilities, including employee performance, recruitment, and mentorship.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
