The Branch manages the Agency's Cybersecurity, Privacy, and IT Policy Programs.

As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) (Information Security Risk/Threat Analyst) GS-2210-13, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Safeguarding data by examining files, processes, and systems for malicious activity.
  • Providing continuous monitoring oversight on risks associated with authorized systems and NLRB usage of FedRAMP certified cloud solutions.
  • Making oral presentations to senior managers and other technical staff to persuade them to accepting findings and implement recommendations to prevent security breaches.
  • Applying encryption to protect sensitive data against physical threats.
  • Conducting risk and/or threat assessment on vendor, software/hardware, IT systems, infrastructure, and data usage.

Ideal Candidate Statement:
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication skills to explain technical information based on professional knowledge of the technologies, software, and policies to a variety of audiences. Exceptional written and oral communication skills and meticulous attention to details desired.

Basic Qualifications:
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be qualified for this position, in addition to the Basic Requirements, applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector typically gained in the IT field or through performing IT related tasks such as:
  • Experience conducting risk assessments on third-party information technology and communications systems to report vulnerabilities; and
  • Experience developing incident reports, disaster recovery and contingency plans; and
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing directives, polices, regulations, and procedures to implement policy.
