Summary

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Financial Management Division, Office of Finance, Financial Integrity Section, Financial Review and Training Unit (FNIR).

This position(s) primary purpose is to assist with the design, development, implementation and evaluation of various Financial Management training plans using an e-learning training tools, applications, systems and platforms.

Duties

Help

As a Financial Management Systems Specialist, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Designs, develops, implements and evaluates strategic plans and solutions to design, develop and deliver training programs in an e-learning environment.
  • Reviews existing financial management policies, procedures and operations for the purpose of identifying training programs and requirements.
  • Designs, develops, and executes training delivery support solutions. Identify, analyze, design, and execute training-related logistical and technical requirements and solutions.
  • Ensures accounting procedures are compatible with the financial management systems, and ensures related reporting modules capture required data, and are effective in providing information necessary for financial planning, programming, and analysis.
  • Designs, develops and maintains standard operating procedures for user registration database, processes and tracking systems. Identifies and documents standard operating procedures for design, development, and execution processes and other technical and logistical solutions. Provides recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement.

Applicants applying for the GS-12 must meet one of the following requirements:

A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting management in identifying financial management training needs; 2) Preparing strategic planning documents for financial management and financial system e-learning training programs and courses; and 3) Researching new e-learning software, tools, methodologies, techniques, and makes recommendations for implementation.
