Help

  • Provides accurate and reliable administrative functions for the unit. Demonstrates excellent communication skills. Works and communicates effectively with managers, supervisors, team members, coworkers, partners, and visitors to achieve goals. Prioritizes work assignments and deals with unforeseen interruptions.
  • Serves as a contact and advisor on matters relating to human resources, administration and timekeeping for the unit. Serves as a timekeeper and tracks payroll. Assists with human resources tasks associated with the unit.
  • Prepares formal and informal correspondence. Skilled in typing, word processing, email, spreadsheets, managing database, and travel programs.
  • Reconciles and reallocate funds, completes and tracks credit card purchases and property.
  • Serves as advisor on procedures for procurement, tracks unit acquisitions and prepares purchase requests.

Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.

SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position requires an ability to type at least 40 words per minute. You must indicate your ability by submitting documentation from a completed typing test or indicating the ability in your resume.

To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes: (1) Using various word processing and spreadsheet software to create documents and spreadsheets; (2) Purchase supplies and equipment; (3) Preparing travel vouchers and advising on travel regulations and procedures; (4) Budget related duties including tracking budget and financial data; and (5) Preparing and reviewing correspondence and/or reports requiring prescribed formats, proper grammar and spelling.. You must include hours per week worked.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement.

Additional information
