Duties

Help
  • You will evaluate grievances, disciplinary, or adverse actions involving Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) issues to determine the most appropriate course of action.
  • You will investigate Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints to develop proposed resolutions.
  • You will negotiate resolutions to discrimination complaints with management and the complainant
  • You will advise managers and employees concerning the advantages to utilizing an Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) program.

Qualifications

For the GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Counseling employees on perceived discrimination in job related matters; (2) Using techniques as mediation and negotiating to facilitate resolution and conducting fact finding into allegations of discrimination; (3) Identifying barriers to equal opportunity and developing a portion of the activity's affirmation employment plan; and (4) Identifying systemic related problems and analyzing the work force of competencies to identify particular occupations and lines of progression in which members are underrepresented. NOTE: This experience must be demonstrated in your resume.

For the GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing advice and guidance on the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints process; 2) Performing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) counseling; 3) Employing alternate dispute resolution techniques; 4) Conducting briefings, orientation, and training on Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program Requirements. For the GS-11:
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M, if related

For the GS-09:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
