Help
  • Develops and implements plans designed to enhance relationships with USAID stakeholders using the Web, social media, and other channels, including video, to increase effectiveness in communicating program goals, priorities, and area(s) of concern.
  • Assists LPA leadership and the Public Engagement team with broad strategies and specific outreach plans designed to strengthen the exchange of information between USAID and the targeted audiences.
  • Develops and implements public engagement plans supporting many "proactive" external affairs activities such as strategic planning; event pitching, and planning. Provide advice, guidance, and support bureaus as they develop and plan engagements.
  • Recommends approaches, specific topics, or aspects to be emphasized, and key target audiences. Identifies potential risks in stakeholder outreach or event management. Serves as an advisor to senior staff with management on external communications.
  • Develops and coordinates the Agency's participation in and/or initiation of events, conferences, discussions designed to educate and engage audiences about USAID’s activities and priorities.
  • Develops complete concept notes, event memos, and fact sheets on own initiative. Prepares talking points, action memos and briefing documents for public engagements.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

ALL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience relevant to the position's duties to be filled, including volunteer experience.

CTAP/ICTAP candidates will be referred to the selecting official if they are found well qualified. Well-qualified means an eligible applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities that clearly exceed the position's minimum requirements. This vacancy may be used to fill multiple vacancies depending on the needs of the Agency.

After the advertisement closes, a subject matter expert will review your application package to ensure you meet the job and eligibility requirements, including the education and/or experience required for this position.
