Duties

Help
  • Conducts projects to solve equal employment opportunity problems through systematic fact finding, analysis, and consulting efforts.
  • Investigate or analyze individual equal employment opportunity problems, and recommends resolution of the problems.
  • Discusses ways to promote affirmative action and to prevent problems from arising.
  • Assists with various recurring EEO reports, including accomplishments, complaint workload, and related data.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-9:You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting in researching and compiling specified statistics related to equal employment opportunity (EEO) complaints; assisting in providing employees and/or managers with basic EEO information such as prohibited practices, employee rights, or affirmative action goals; interacting with supervisors, managers, and peers in communicating EEO information; obtaining and exchanging information, answering questions, and explaining well established EEO policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements and standards.

OR

Completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or J.D., if related;

OR

A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.

To qualify for the GS-11:You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: monitoring the equal employment opportunity (EEO) program goals and objectives, evaluating progress, and recommending actions for eliminating barriers in EEO; researching and compiling specified statistics related to EEO complaints; providing employees and/or managers with basic EEO information such as prohibited practices, employee rights, or affirmative action goals; providing advisory services on policies directly applicable to the complaint.

OR

Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related;

OR

A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.

To qualify for the GS-12:You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: preparing and facilitating briefings, seminars and training on equal employment opportunity (EEO) issues; researching, compiling, and reporting on specified statistics related to EEO complaints; providing assistance with a variety of EEO special emphasis programs; investigating or analyzing individual equal employment opportunity problems, and/or recommending or negotiating resolution of the problems.
