Duties

Help
  • Present briefings to the Director and/or Assistant Directors, providing workload status, progress on projects, and making upper management aware of all issues or problems with which he/she should be acquainted or must become involved.
  • Serve as Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Official who manages the PIV issuance process at the Regional Office (RO) and is responsible for the total scope of the chain trust of the process.
  • Give advice and recommendations on the administrative feasibility of operating plans, suggestions, and proposals.
  • Conduct detailed studies and analysis of organizational functions and work processes during all phases of Regional Office (RO) activities and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Act in an advisory capacity to the Director and/or Assistant Directors relative to availability of funds for personnel additions, procurement of equipment and significant expenditures for contractual services.
  • Oversee the financial and budgetary operations through subordinate supervisor(s).
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and staff with the Regional Office (RO) on matters of policy and personnel management issues.

Specialized Experience
GS-13: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-12) in the federal, state, local, private or other service that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: (1) Providing administrative study findings, recommendations, plans, and reports; (2) Advising on administrative functions pertaining to facilities, budget, security, and safety; (3) Presenting position papers/technical information to senior management pertaining to administrative issues; (4) Conducting independent evaluations of administrative functions; AND (5) Preparing/monitoring budgets to resolve financial management issues.

There is no education substitute at the GS-13 grade level.

Work Schedule: Regular office hours, Monday -Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Alternate work schedules may be available.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. The work requires walking, carrying light items such as paper files and books, and use of the full range of modem office equipment. The work may involve lifting various materials such as training materials as well as various supplies. Incumbent is required to assist with scheduling and occasionally physical set-up of facility training rooms (arranging of chairs, presentation equipment, etc.). Promotion Potential: This position is being recruited at the full performance level of grade GS-13.
