(1) On a regular and recurring basis, leads three or more aircraft mechanics,crew chiefs, and specialist personnel performing work in the inspection docks.
(2) Monitors the work of assigned personnel, sets the pace, passes alongassignments, and assures that materials, tools, equipment, and stock are available.Works along with aircraft mechanics and specialist personnel performing journeymanwork as required.
(3) Insures that assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished inaccordance with established time frames and priorities. Checks work in progress and/orupon completion for compliance with the supervisor's instructions, appropriate technicalorders, etc. Serves as a technical advisor by answering questions regardingappropriate procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives. Ensures thatsafety, housekeeping, security and other environmental rules are followed.
(4) Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress ofwork, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g.,additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees). As requested bythe supervisor, provides functional planning for the inspection docks. On a daily basis,recommends adjustments in work schedules to provide optimum utilization of personnelin support of functional requirements.
(5) Performs other duties as assigned.
*This is an indefinite position, tenure 3, with a time limit determined by the needs of the agency. Any permanent military technician who is selected for this position will become tenure 3. The selectee will receive the same benefits and entitlements as the tenure 1 employee, but will be considered tenure 3 for purposes of reduction in force. If a permanent resource becomes available, incumbent may be converted to a permanent appointment without competition*

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position Constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training which it has provided me with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. I am skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of months/years.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

If you accept an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) position or a Military Technician (Mil Tech) Permanent or Indefinite position after 25 February 2010 where membership in the National Guard is a condition of employment, your bonus will be terminated with no recoupment.
