1. Assists in developing a diversified Commercial Sponsorship Program. Represents the Regional NAP Marketing Department office on event committees and serves as marketing liaison/account representative to event planners.
2. Responsible for assisting with management of the Commercial Sponsorship Program to include, but not limited to, matching events with potential sponsors, determining opportunities for sponsors, selling proposal packages, sponsorship and advertising solicitations, sponsorship agreements, etc. Responsible for maintaining accounts, record keeping, and follow-up communication with sponsors and advertisers.
3. Assists in developing proposal packages and negotiating best terms for MWR. Tracks contracts and ensures they are reviewed by legal counsel and signed by designated authority. Ensures the contractual "quid pro quo" is fulfilled through execution of considerations and completion of evaluation/follow-up reports.
4. Develops after-action reports for major events and proof of performance for advertising sales. Develops advertising sales rate sheets and agreements. Tracks sponsorship considerations and advertising placement to ensure contractual compliance.
5. Assists in developing training and educational materials on event marketing and commercial sponsorship for MWR departments. Provides technical assistance on MWR sponsorship regulations, policies, procedures and practices.
6. Provides visibility for Community Support Programs and disseminates information by making presentations to individuals or groups regarding facilities, services, programs and special events available for commercial sponsorships.
7. Establishes and maintains liaison with existing and potential sponsors, clubs, recreation program managers, key staff personnel, Commands or groups to gather information pertinent to facility programs, services and events in an effort to solicit sponsorship and participation.
8. Represents the Marketing and Sponsorship departments on special event planning committees. Conducts special meetings with appropriate staff members to ensure deadlines, sponsorship and advertising fulfillment, equipment, materials, and departmental commitments are being met for each event.
9. Develops and implements event promotional plans including initiation of graphic work orders, advertising placement, and management of in-kind advertising, development of news releases and distribution of publicity materials.
10. Prepares Purchase Order and Contract requests in compliance with accounting standards for departmental and event-related purchases.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
A degree from an accredited college or university with a course of study in business administration; or, five years of sales experience that demonstrate the ability to research companies for commercial sponsorship and negotiate terms of a contract, or a combination of comparable education and experience.
