Under the general supervision of the Director for Theater Operations, initiates contacts with senior policy officials and military command staff for the purpose of arranging meetings and briefings on matters significant to the Lead Inspector General mission;
Prepares talking points, background papers and attend meetings as representative or observer on matters of interest to the Deputy Inspector General for Overseas Contingency Operations (DIG OCO);
Reports on such meetings, and, as necessary, prepares statements, or notes on behalf of DIG OCO used to convey/confirm meeting discussions and results;
Initiates and/or organizes events on issues of importance to DIG OCO and ensures completion of related follow-up activity;
Prepares drafts, reports and documents and initiates correspondence on matters of significance for clearance and consideration by the Director, prior to submission to the DIG OCO;
Ensures prompt and orderly flow of documents, reports and inter-agency information and, keeps appropriate ODIG OCO personnel informed of matters of common interest within the liaison function;
Supports data call, quarterly reporting, and oversight planning functions;
Builds and maintains long-term relationships with departmental contacts to ensure effective, factual and timely exchange of information;
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at this grade level.
