The selectee will serve as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist in the Office of Equity and Employee Support Services Typical work assignments include:
Planning, developing and administering a comprehensive agency wide EEO Discrimination Complaints and/or Affirmative Employment Programs. Determining program needs, areas to be revised or emphasized in order to improve the quality of operations.
Preparing and delivering employee and supervisory/managerial EEO program training; and planning and implementing basic EEO orientation training.
Researching case law from EEOC, Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), and Federal District Courts to determine appropriate courses of action. Applying precedents, resolving complaints and developing theories of resolutions.
Advising managers on the development of affirmative action plans, making recommendations for changes in policies and practices and procedures affecting minorities, women, persons with disabilities and planning special emphasis program activities.

Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-14 level (starting salary $139,395) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level performing duties such as:
Providing technical advice and assistance to managers and employees of an organization concerning EEO matters specifically, broad and complex EEO complaints;
Developing EEO policies, guidelines and procedures;
Analyzing problems to identify and define problems affecting EEO issues (i.e., affirmative employment, diversity, equity and inclusion, persons with disabilities or disabled veterans);
Managing Affirmative Employment and/or EEO Discrimination Complaints from inception to conclusion including hearings, appeals and the Federal District Court process, preparing acceptance, amendments, or dismissals based on EEOC regulations;
Formulating short- and long-range plans to meet EEO goals and objectives.
