Duties

Help

As an Aviation Safety Assistant (Office Automation), you will provide administrative, semi-technical and automation support to the office staff by utilizing advanced automation system tools relevant in the Safety Assurance System environment. This includes obtaining background data, preparing reports, reviewing applications and interviewing applicants, processing certificates and maintaining technical and administrative files. You will work under the general supervision of a Front Line Manager (FLM).

Qualifications

To qualify at the FG-303-6 level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level of FG/GS-5 or equivalent. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience includes: performing a variety of administrative and clerical work such as assist in researching, writing and typing non-technical and routine correspondence; reviewing and distributing incoming correspondence; maintaining files; general office support; preparing reports; examining documents for accuracy and completeness and entering and retrieving information from a variety of automated systems.

To qualify at the FG-303-7 level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level of FG/GS-6 or equivalent. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience includes: knowledge of agency directives and various agency policies governing technical programs; performing a variety of technical administrative work such as preparing complex reports; assisting in interpreting and implementing newly modified agency directives and determining action needed; managing records; providing tracking and validation support of funds for employee travel; assist in writing complex technical and non-technical correspondence and reports; researching technical data; reviewing and analyzing complex information and interpreting directives.
