Summary

This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Deputy Director, Trust Services in Anywhere in the U.S. (remote job). Help

  • Program Management: Implement performance metrics to manage and monitor the operational efficiencies of the organization. Monitor program performance outcomes. Develop strategies for maintaining appropriate performance levels in support of Bureau management initiatives. Guide management in effectively implementing planning efforts for current and future performance requirements.
    Implement actions necessary to correct identified problem areas and follows through to ensure adjustments to program plans were made. Independently applies a broad range of quality improvement knowledge and experience to include quantitative and qualitative measurement and analysis; program and project management; business case methods and measures; and customer satisfaction assessment and measurement.
  • Program Coordination: Provide technical expertise and advice to other Bureau programs, national in scope, which relate
    to or affect the overall conservation, development, use and management of Bison on Indian landscapes. Analyze and prepare revisions or modifications of the regulations to effectively carry out the mission of the Branch of Bison program. Provide leadership for the development of the Bureau's Bison program. Formulate, develop, and recommend bureau-wide policies, plans, regulations and procedures for the overall development, management, and utilization of the Bison resources on Indian lands.
  • Planning and Development: Plan and organize efforts and projects that are aimed at achieving and improving the quality, effectiveness, and timeliness of program accomplishment. Serve as a senior advisor to management and executive leadership on developing and implementing strategic plans in support of achieving the Bison program objectives.
  • Supervision: Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjust priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work; assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees; evaluates work performance of employees; provides advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on work and administrative matters.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing at least three of the five following type of work and/or tasks: 1.) Participate In planning, monitoring, and allocation of organizational resources for respective program operations and making recommendations to senior management regarding the necessary changes or adjustments in the programs and In their implementation; 2.) Providing authoritative professional viewpoints and opinions on the program methods, techniques, and procedures required within the organization to ensure maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of program operations in accordance with Bureau and Administrative priorities and policies; 3.) Represent the organization, analyzing, researching, and making recommendations for resolution of administrative or procedural Issues; 4.) Provide expertise in all areas of administrative operations In different components of the organization; 5) Completing reports. Bison management plans and budget formulation; evaluating projects and activities to meet land management objectives on a national level; interpreting national policy for use of Bison related structures; developing cooperative agreements; monitoring tribal resolutions; participating in multi-agency coordinating group; formulate, develop, implement policy and procedures related to Bison Management.

This is a supervisory position. Under provision of the Civil Service Reform Act, first-time supervisors are required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period before their appointment becomes final. Those who do not satisfactorily complete this probationary period will be returned to positions of no lower grade and pay than those they occupied before assuming their supervisory assignment.
