Duties

Help
  • Responsible for independently planning, designing, and carrying out equal employment opportunity assignments without specific instructions.
  • Issues decisions for the Secretary of the Army regarding the disposition of pre-complaint/informal complaints and their acceptance and/or dismissal.
  • Develops, implements, and integrates EEO program components to improve the representation of women and minorities through such means as recruiting from colleges and working with other organizations.
  • Ensure the integration of EEO policies, principles etc. into the strategic mission of the Command.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 25% of the time.
  • This position is designated as Mission Essential. Employee can be required to remain on duty or report for duty during contingency operations or other emergency situations. Commensurate with mission requirements.
  • The incumbent can be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes collaborating with Agency level Subject Matter Experts (SME)s to conduct briefings and training sessions on EEO, anti-harassment, and reflect changes in law, emerging trends, and significant precedents; preparing EEO plans and status reports that comply with regulatory reporting requirements such as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Management Directive 715; experience planning, organizing, implementing, reviewing and evaluating a management oriented Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program; managing and directing the development and implementation of EEO policies and procedures, providing consultation on identification and elimination of individual and systemic discrimination; promotion and development of EEO policies, plans, and programs; collecting, compiling, and reviewing reports on statistical employment data to determine local progress in achieving EEO goals, identifying pre-selection actions which violate merit principles resulting in unfair advantage of pre-selected individuals, planning and administering the pre- and formal complaint processes, developing policies and procedures, and determining allocation of resources for individual and class action complaints. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
