Duties

Help
  • Provide general assistance and information in response to inquiries to assure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties, i.e., records management, processing correspondence, and reports.
  • Work with automated systems to verify ownership and monitor activity.
  • Communicate with beneficiaries, lessees, landowners and other interested parties about the process options, documentation, and other needs that may be associated with irrigation operations.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and consistent information, and responsive to inquiries and for reporting purposes.
  • Perform program account maintenance activities (tracking, encoding, review, preparation, compliance, etc) associated with lease and land ownership information, billing activities including delinquent accounts, and water accounting data.
  • Utilize the laws, rules, policies, and regulations on water rights, irrigation operations, and land use.
  • Perform record keeping of accounts payable and receivable ledgers.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-1101).

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-6: I have at least 1 year specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-5 in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector). This expeience must include applying basic data gathering methods, such as researching county records; obtaining, organize, file and prepare reports, correspondence, and other data; prepare status reports, briefings, and presentations; compile management or program analysis data; knowledge of grammar, punctuation, format, and style to prepare correspondence and of software suites related to word processing and database maintenance; prepare and maintain assessments, general ledgers, operating and maintenance billing, delinquent accounts, and water accounting data; prepare and maintain financial records of accounts payable and receivable ledgers; and ability to make sound decisions in accordance with laws, ordinances, policies, and procedures.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
