The Social Security Administration's Office of the General Counsel (OGC) seeks Criminal Fraud Attorneys to work directly in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) and serve as Special Assistant United States Attorneys. OGC criminal fraud attorneys investigate and prosecute criminal violations that undermine SSA programs, are responsible for all stages of the criminal judicial process, and collaborate with the Office of the Inspector General and other law enforcement agencies.

WRITING SAMPLE: One current substantive legal writing sample that reflects your own work and is no more than 15 pages in length. For this location, attorney may also be assigned to prosecute cases in state court for the California State Attorney General. Attorneys are responsible for all stages of the criminal judicial process, including grand jury proceedings; indictments; motion practice; plea negotiations and hearings; trials; and sentencing hearings. Attorneys have significant responsibility for their own caseloads, but also receive intensive mentoring, training, and support through OGC and the USAO.
