Duties

Help

Prepares and/or reviews environmental documents including Environmental Assessments (EA). Environmental Impact Statements (EIS). Categorical Exclusions (CATEXs). Records of Decision (ROD) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). Assists with identifying environmental risks and developing abatement plans and key targets to reduce negative impacts on National Airspace Operations. Forecasts future resource needs to manage emerging environmental issues. Conducts studies, surveys, and audits to identify environmental problems and provides corrective guidance. Works directly with Legal Counsel on issues and guidance on environmental projects & initiatives. Provides aviation specific environmental guidance to support FAA management and facilities, DoD proponents and Third Party developers on environmental regulations in accordance with FAA 1050.1E and FAA JO 7400.2K. Coordinates compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Assists with determining environmental technical requirements for contract services in all phases of environmental and general construction projects. Assists with drafting appropriate environmental protection language incorporated into project specifications and scopes of work.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FG-14 level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience may include but not limited to: Experience and applied knowledge of FAA aviation environmental policies and procedures, and requirements of FAA Order 1050.1 and FAA JO 7400.2, as applicable to preparing and/or reviewing environmental documents including Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, Categorical Exclusions, Records of Decision and Findings of No Significant Impact.

  • Experience and applied knowledge of FAA aviation environmental policies and procedures, and requirements of FAA Order 1050.1 and FAA JO 7400.2, as applicable to preparing and/or reviewing environmental documents including Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, Categorical Exclusions, Records of Decision and Findings of No Significant Impact.

  • Experience and applied knowledge of consultation under the National Historic Preservation Act and Executive Order 12898 Environmental Justice and purpose laws considered in conjunction with National Environmental Policy Act.
