Help

Serves as a Management and Program Assistant, providing a broad range of administrative support. Performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments in support of a professional, technical, or specialized occupation under the limited direction of a manager. Performs administrative duties, to assists managers and other employees in day-to-day operations, including assisting with the analysis, budget/financial tracking, travel arrangements, time and attendance administration, labor distribution reporting, purchasing, correspondence control/filing, maintaining calendars, providing procurement support, maintaining property records, telephone support and providing overall office management support.

Applies experience and advanced knowledge of the purposes, methods, and techniques of management analysis and/or program analysis to plan and perform administrative assignments for projects/programs. Assists management in the administrative functions required to manage the office's day-to-day functions and improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of organizations and programs. Tracks projects and resources and enters and tracks budget expenditures. Often helps others plan and identify resources to accomplish projects/programs/tasks. Provides support related to fiscal management, travel, management information systems, contract administration, property management, and procurement.

Performs typical specialized assignments, which includes: compiling, tracking, and analyzing data for a variety of program; providing advanced computer assistance; scheduling meetings; preparing correspondence; providing written or oral explanation of organizational policies; and coordinating the implementation of new office policies and systems. Compiles data to aid in the drafting of briefing materials, reports and other documents for presentation by senior management. Performs other administrative functions related to purchasing and inventory; organizing and managing files, documents, and records, and scheduling meetings. Coordinates the implementation of new office policies and systems. Interprets guidelines for compiling and consolidating information. Has a broad understanding of how administrative, financial, and other business support assignments contribute to the activities of the organization.

Performs various analytical studies related to space management, travel administration, overtime usage trends, leave usage, etc., with limited review by a higher level or more experienced employee. Prepares administrative correspondences needed to implement recommendations. Collects program information from FAA personnel and enters it into information systems. Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager or more experienced employee. Identifies and informs managers and/or other employees of problems/issues that require their attention and helps them develop and recommend solutions.

Contacts internal and external. External may be with Congressional staff, Federal, state, and local officials, business executives, customers, and LOB/SO officials on routine matters that relates to the professional or technical occupation being supported. Internal contacts are with managers and employees in more than one organization, the major subdivision or the LOB/SO to share information, coordinate efforts, and discuss the statuses of assignments.

Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow some discretion for the employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or to recommend new approaches. Typically works under limited instructions that are provided by a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced employee. May provide recommendations to improve work process.

To qualify at the FV-F pay band, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-E/GS-7/8 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience includes: Experience compiling, tracking and analyzing data. Experience providing procurement and telephone support and maintaining property records.
