WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications:
Have at least a bachelor's degree that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. NOTE: Must submit transcript(s) with application.

Have a combination of education and experience -- courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance. NOTE: Must submit transcript(s) with application.
-AND- Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least 3 of the following:
(1) Modifying or developing survey tools and methodologies that target specific public health populations and communities.
(2) Utilizing a wide range of advanced qualitative or quantitative tools for the assessment of public health program effectiveness.
(3) Using statistical software to handle data manipulations and analyses.
(4) Developing reports showing statistical graphs and charts reflecting data analysis and trends, designing and monitoring data collection processes and/or procedures for large datasets.
(5) Communicating with representatives of the health care and human services industry to obtain expert input, and promote health service initiatives.
