As a Grants Management Specialist (Policy), you will perform the following duties:

Prepares and maintains written implementation guidance that are consistent with federal assistance policy and conforms to the management disciplines and specialties involved in the work of the Cooperative Support Branch.
Conducting research, reviewing and analyzing information, and briefing NSF senior management on complex assistance and procurement related matters;
Supporting NSF's financial statement audit; serving as an internal reviewer for pending award actions; conducting internal compliance reviews;
Researching and analyzing information concerning other types of legal agreements (e.g., bailment, property leasing and intellectual property licensing).

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 Level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience legal, administrative, management, accounting, auditing, quantitative or engineering principles and concepts applied to: (i) solicitation, award and administration of federal grants, cooperative agreements or contracts, or (ii) researching, writing and maintaining assistance or procurement policy, standard operating procedures, instructions, or other guidance documentation.

To qualify at the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience legal, administrative, management, accounting, auditing, quantitative or engineering principles and concepts applied to: (i) solicitation, award and administration of federal grants, cooperative agreements or contracts, or (ii) researching, writing and maintaining assistance or procurement policy, standard operating procedures, instructions, or other guidance documentation.

Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) & other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, & skills & can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
