Duties

Help

At the GS-12, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing, reviews, analyzes, and monitors contractor performance via onsite evaluation of contractor systems, processes, procedures, products, and records.       
  • Independently managing contractual compliance issues. Identifies, investigates, reconciles and effectively resolves actual and potential contract discrepancies and violations.
  • Supporting Business Process Improvements and Organizational Accountability.
  • Developing effective working relationships with customers and maintains these relationships throughout projects, providing technical expertise, market research, and related quality and industrial support, keeping customers advised of problems, solutions and developments on projects as they progress.

The GS-12 base salary range will depend on the duty location of the selectee.

If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is industrial operations and/or quality assurance experience in performing or assisting in audit planning and preparation, execution, writing, and reporting; performing complex qualitative and quantitative analyses in assessing contractor processes, systems, and progress; and evaluation of data in a quality control management information system. This experience must demonstrate knowledge and application of the policies and principles of industrial operations, quality assurance, engineering, and contract administration as well as the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

GS-12:

    1. Knowledge of Federal contracting, industrial operations and quality assurance operations, requirements and processes to define problems, analyze alternatives, design and implement solutions and adapt equipment or techniques to resolve a diverse and complex range of quality assurance and engineering problems.
    2. Knowledge and experience in the industrial operations and quality assurance fields required to evaluate the design and efficiency of manufacturing and supplier quality/statistical control systems, including a full range of equipment and process control techniques.
    3. Skill in fact-finding and research methods and problem resolution skills required to gather technical and program data relating to compliance with national IOA quality assurance requirements and verification/documentation requirements.
    4. Knowledge and ability required to identify problem areas, conduct research, and evaluate technical data in order to make decisions or recommendations for action based on consideration of all aspects of a problem.
    5. Skill in oral, written and graphic communication required to provide technical guidance to GSA associates and contractors, suppliers and manufacturers, and to effectively and professionally communicate via a variety of venues such as customer meetings, presentations, etc.
