MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Serves as an active participant in the OFCCP Leadership Team.
  • Develops and implements an internal/external stakeholder communications strategy leveraging multiple mediums.
  • Closely monitors proposed significant OFCCP undertakings.
  • Prepares talking points, speeches, and testimony for the Director, Deputy Director.
  • Prepares press releases and responds to media inquiries.
  • Establishes and maintains communications with business and industry leaders.
  • Represents the agency in meetings with department representatives and other high-level Government officials.
  • Oversees the preparation of written and oral testimony and analysis of fact-finding for public hearings concerning proposed OFCCP regulations.
  • Participates in the development of external and internal talking points of policies.
  • Develops the agency’s communication rollout strategies for regulatory, operational, and programmatic priorities.
  • Prepares Congressional testimony and backup materials within OFCCP.
  • Advises and assists the Director of OFCCP, on other matters relating to internal and external stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. WE WILL NOT MAKE ASSUPTIONS REGARDING YOUR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE. 

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Service or private sector. Qualifying specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:

  • Implementing communication plans and outreach strategies to improve understanding by various audiences.
  • Writing and editing briefing materials and talking points for senior officials for internal meetings, media interviews, public speeches, or broadcasts.
  • Preparing speeches, news releases, opinion pieces, feature stories, and other materials for public distribution.
  • Building or establishing partnerships with partners who may have opposing points of view.
  • Developing multimedia information products (podcasts, blogs, slide shows and other interactive media).
  • Utilizing web, text, graphics, photos, audio, video, and other social media to convey information effectively.

Education

There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-15 level.
