Performs a variety of tasks requiring heavy physical effort. Duties to include the following: Uses heavy power mowers, adjust blades, and clean and oils mowers; cuts trees, using ax or chain saw. Digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where dirt is hard and compact and does grading and sloping. Breaks up pavements with jackhammer, mixes and pours concrete, asphalt, and hot mix, fills and levels in damaged roads. General labor duties include the loading and unloading of boxes and supplies. Runs hand and powered lawnmowers which do not require heavy physical effort. Clears small trees and bushes using hatchet, handsaw, or clipper. May shovel snow sand or dirt from sidewalks. Collects and empties garbage cans. Washes and waxes cars and trucks by hand or powered buffer. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Ability to provide continual care and attention both to avoid accidents and to finish work properly.
Ability to operate, control, and clean heavy power equipment to work safely with heavy tools.
