The student will work, as part of a team, within the following administrative programs areas: Investigation and Inquiry Process, Administrative and Resource Support Programs, and Business Operations.
Performs various analytical assignments supporting special or ongoing projects, assists senior staff in consolidating data to prepare reports, and review and analyze dashboard/program activities.
Develops and coordinates a variety of reports, actions, and correspondence applying concepts, principles, practices, and procedures of administrative actions and program analysis.
Collects, researches, and develops data-based findings and conclusions, and present the information orally or in writing to diverse audiences.
Attends meetings and conferences.
Assists in the collaboration of sensitive matters.
Uses automated tools to process and track requests. Plans, prioritizes, and balances work assignments. Identifies feasible work management approaches that address required activities and timelines.
Collects relevant information that is aligned with objectives and meets the goals.
Conducts analyses aligned with tasks, identifies relevant information, patterns/inconsistencies, trends/relationships, interdependencies, and potential implications.
Communicates relevant and accurate information during formal or informal presentations, meetings, or interviews.
Collaborates with Analysts/Specialists and other team members to address issues and/or concerns, and will follow up to ensure needs are met.
Contributes to team efforts through participation in activities/meetings, soliciting and listening to others' opinions, and working collaboratively to accomplish team goals.
Uses office automation software to produce and prepare various materials such as spreadsheets, plans, procedures, memoranda, letters, charts, databases, and presentations.
We are looking for highly motivated student interns to serve as a student trainee within the Air Traffic Organization in the Western Service Center, Northwest Mountain Region.
Other features of the Gateways Internship Program
APPOINTMENT - If selected, your appointment may not exceed a total of 120 days after graduation.
AGREEMENT - All participants must sign a written Gateways Internship Agreement with the FAA that clearly identifies expectations of the appointment such as duties, length of appointment, work schedule, training, mentorship etc.
CONVERSION - Although it is not guaranteed, an intern may be converted from the Internship program to a permanent excepted service position without further competition after successful completion of the educational program (awarding of degree). completion of a minimum of 640 hours of career-related work, required training, mentorship, and other requirements in accordance with the intern's participant agreement.
TERMINATION- Participation in this program may be terminated at any time.
