Summary

This position is located in the Operations Division, Office of Personnel Security & Suitability, Office of the Senior Coordinator for Security Infrastructure, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Department of State.  You will serve as the Records and Information Manager subject matter expert in the Intake, Certification, and Records Unit.  You will also provide guidance and advice to leadership and staff on creating, maintenance, and use of records, electronic recordkeeping and electronic systems.

Duties

Help
  • Create, review and implement electronic recordkeeping management requirements including overseeing and coordinating the transfer of records as appropriate, to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
  • Develop internal protocols and ensure comprehensive guidance for implementation of modern, efficient, and systematic life cycle management of all recorded information for the organizational unit.
  • Coordinate records management activities that describes the categories of records maintained by the Office of Personnel Security and Suitability.
  • Conduct briefings to officials concerning the requirements for the removal of personal papers and non-record material and on the continued protection of information subject to personal recollection even after Government service ends.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. 

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

-Experience analyzing and evaluating information related to records management to develop records disposition schedules and other programs. 

-Experience drafting records and information management policies and developing recommendations for records management functionality and disposition.  

-Experience utilizing an automatic and/or manual filing retrieval system.  

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
