The incumbent serves as a primary technical advisor to the National Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator (NRAC), who is charged with reviewing all recommended denials in response to a request for reasonable accommodation (RA) and who is responsible for the development and implementation of SSA's RA policy, process, and procedures.
Summary
The incumbent serves as a primary technical advisor to the National Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator (NRAC), who is charged with reviewing all recommended denials in response to a request for reasonable accommodation (RA) and who is responsible for the development and implementation of SSA's RA policy, process, and procedures.
Reviews and edits all substantive draft decisions for NRAC review to ensure decisions are consistent with Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Rehab Act) and SSA policy; are supported by the evidence gathered; contain all
[CONT] necessary and relevant information; are analytically sound; and written in accordance with Federal Plain Language Guidelines.
Drafts decisions for NRAC review on requests for reconsideration of denials of RA requests and other correspondence for NRAC signature, as needed. The NRAC may delegate signature authority to incumbent once reviewed and deemed legally sufficient for
[CONT] for signature.
Maintains knowledge of current Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and federal court decisions on RAs under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended, executive orders,
[CONT] and directives from EEOC and the Office of Personnel Management.
Collaborates with the NRAC to provide training to Analysts on the NRAC Team on decision writing and analysis under Section 501 of the Rehab Act, interview techniques, and changes in RA law, regulation, and policy.

Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-14, the applicant must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience should include Such experience must include at least three (3) of the following: experience applying the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; experience conducting reviews of and drafting legal decisions; experience preparing and conducting training activities; experience developing and finalizing complex technical correspondence for leadership regarding reasonable accommodations; ability to apply statues, regulations, policies, and executive orders related to disability law , including reasonable accommodations.
