Duties

Help

Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team and may perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs or other work activities.

Applies experience and advanced knowledge as the primary representative of the FAA Logistics Center in the planning, coordination, and establishment of logistics support through all program phases for assigned programs. The work involves identifying the specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support the program and correlating those requirements with program plans to assure that the needed support is provided at the right time and place. Typical assignments include; tracking and managing programs to ensure coordination and completion of work; providing guidance to less-experienced professionals in a day-to-day operations: identifying, analyzing, and recommending solutions for complex/difficult problems.

Maintains continuous interface with program managers within government agencies and private industry for power systems, DC Bus, and engine generators. Serves as a consultant and advisor to the Division Manager on provisioning support matters. Participates in contract negotiations and maintains contract milestones. Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for contracts.

Demonstrates considerable independence in planning time and helping a manager, project/program manager, and/or team leader to plan and use assigned resources to accomplish projects/programs/activities. May identify and request additional resources, as needed.

Contacts typically are internal and external, with regular contacts among major subdivisions and LOB/SOs, customers, and other external parties to share information about the FAA and explain the applications of policies and procedures.

Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or recommend new approaches. Assignments often require reviews of policies and precedents under the limited guidance of a manager or other employee.

Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Refers to managers and professionals who are more experienced problems that require their attention. May help them develop and recommend solutions.

Work is reviewed periodically, typically, at major milestones and at completion, for policy compliance and alignment with requirements of the project or other work activity.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-H (FG/GS 12) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G, (FG/GS 10-11) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes tracking and analyzing data to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; providing guidance on day-to-day operations; identifying, analyzing, and recommending solutions for less complex/difficult problems; and recommending improvements to systems and processes.
