Summary

This position is located in the Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator (S/GAC) and is responsible for implementing the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The PEPFAR program is the U.S. government’s global HIV/AIDS program which provides in excess of $6 billion annually for prevention and treatment programs in over fifty countries impacted by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.  PEPFAR works with institutions, governments, community groups and organizations to meet its goals.

Duties

Help
  • Responsible for directing, implementing, coordinating, or overseeing one or more of a variety of management programs impacting the Bureau (e.g., annual and strategic program planning, acquisition planning, periodic reports).
  • Draft reports of findings and recommendations for use by managers.
  • Review existing policies, directives and issuances on an ad-hoc basis as issues arise.
  • Support higher graded analysts by conducting assigned segments of projects involving development, implementation and monitoring of information management systems that focus on the Bureau's progress in executing long and short range plans.
  • At the GS-12 level, the incumbent performs essentially the same duties as outlined below however, the scope and complexity of assignments are of less responsibility and independence and receives closer than normal supervision than the GS-13 level.

Applicants applying at the GS-12

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience administrating program planning processes, conducting briefings, presentations, and conferences for executive management.
  • Experience conducting the implementation of program policies and procedures. 

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.

Applicants applying at the GS-13

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
