Duties

Help
  • Coordinates across Indian Affairs, with leadership, and partners to share modernization efforts and foster understanding of the mission and accomplishments.
  • Contributes to the development and coordination of Indian Affairs branding, public relations and communication programs.
  • Coordinates and manages digital media, internet, intranet and web page content. Creates and/or revises web pages; developing or modifying products into web-friendly formats.
  • Manages the content of the Indian Affairs internet and intranet and web-based services and sites.
  • Supports all Indian Affairs branding and communication efforts by incorporating video and motion graphics, organizing digital media coverage, implementing multimedia assets, developing digital media content and analyzing digital data.
  • Measures, analyzes and reports on performance of digital media content deriving actionable insights to improve performance, conversion rates, and loyalty, and increase awareness and trial among core audiences.
  • Supports the development of the Office of Public Affairs' policies and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

GS-12: To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level utilizing a variety of social media tools (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn) to disseminate information. In addition, you must have experience with at least 2 of the following:

  1. Writing articles on current events related to programs that had the possibility of being published regionally and/or nationally;
  2. Developing written materials to convey information concerning complex/sensitive information on programs, policies, and activities;
  3. Advising senior officials of any media problems, potential public reactions and negative public opinion on disseminated information regarding agency programs;
  4. Analyzing programs and developing recommendations to assist program officials in achieving the information objectives of these programs;
  5. Writing press releases related to an agency's programs.
