Duties

Help

  • Functions as a program lead for the day-to-day processing of employer-filed applications, utilizing advanced knowledge of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), the prevailing wage program, and permanent and temporary non-immigrant employment based programs administered by OFLC.
  • Review, analyze, and resolve complex and controversial issues which arise out of the processing of prevailing wage determinations and foreign labor certification applications for various programs.
  • Conduct pre- and post- adjudication quality control audits on applications to ensure accuracy and consistency. 
  • Provide technical assistance to analysts on case processing and answer questions from analysts and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and identify and develop ways to resolve problems that directly affect the accomplishment of program goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled, and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.  Specialized experience is defined as experience applying employment-based immigration regulations and policies.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
