Serves as an agency subject matter expert on operations research, evaluation and analysis. Develops and implements adaptive management, decision analysis, benchmarking, evaluation and structured decision-making techniques and best practices.
Conducts operations research, program/project evaluations and analysis to determine organizational performance levels, and proactively identify areas of risk and opportunities within the OIG. Supports existing Enterprise Risk Management, strategy and organizational performance processes.
Conducts activities aimed at enhancing the use of research, data analysis and decision science to inform mission strategy, risk, organizational performance, and resource management decisions. Provides decision makers with sound quantitative and qualitative information to enable optimal executive decision making. Develops presentation materials, visual graphs and dashboards to present key information and data to diverse audiences.
Identifies and analyzes areas of organizational risks and management challenges, and provides recommendations to leadership to mitigate risks or address challenges. Provides insight about root causes and the probable effects of alternative solutions to risks and challenges.
Independently identifies decision science, governance processes and related best practices. Integrates such practices with strategy setting, enterprise risk management, organizational performance, and analyses.
Collaborates with internal staff and external interdisciplinary partners and stakeholders to carryout operations research, analysis, evaluation and other activities. Exercises tact, diplomacy, empathy, transparency and accountability.

A degree in operations research
OR
At least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of these 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
